the PPG paint code is 15653. I would think you can view samples on their website. Its the lighter blue, almost a teal color that came out on the 77 750s.

Chuck, do you have a location to look? I just went to their site and nothing is coming up for me for that code. THanks.

            Chuck,

It appears that the 1977 GS750 used color code 03E 'Potomac Blue Metallic'.
1978 used color code 05T 'Pearl Black Bluing', or at least what I have found to be true.

Well all i know is the bike had all original paint on it when i got it from the guy next door. I took it to a VERY VERY rupuatable an expensive place in Troy called Classic and Exotic. They do frame off restores of classic cars such as the old Dusenburg they had there when i dropped off the tank and tail piece. They have such expensive and rare cars in there that they dont even have a sign out front. I know of them because we built dies for them to cut out gaskets and headliners for the cars on an as needed basis. That is the paint name and code that John ( the head of the paint dept ) provided to me when i picked up the parts. I know it is the exact color that the parts were when i took them in and thats the info he gave me. And yes 05T is a valid suzuki code for that year as well according to the lady i talked to from suzuki North American HQ on the phone. I did lots of research also and even tried to get Colorrite to match the paint and they told me that even though it was the correct code, that they couldnt mix it..thats what led me to take it to Classic And Exotic.

Please post some pictures of your gorgeous bike when you get it back together.
I would LOVE to paint one of mine that color!
Thanks for posting the paint code.

Edit: Found one in your profile...

BEAUTIFUL! I like the matching chain guard.

Thats is her..thats the first set of pics once i finished the restore..about 2 1/2 years ago. Thats the color it was original..just like on the covers of some of the Cycle World covers i have seen on the internet. Thats what the painter said was Pearl Black Bluing. The chainguard was originally the regular shiny black plastic and i thought he was gonna paint it black again, but when i went to pick up the parts he had painted it the same. Its not technically correct but i thought it was a cool touch so i left it. I have a new one if i ever decide to go back to black!! There should have been about 12 or so pics in my albums showing the bike from several angles..did you see them all? I think the Potomac Blue was a much more vivid blue color..much like the color of the 82 1100s as an example.

The lady that i called at Suzuki North American HQTRS gave me the codes for the deep burgundy metallic and pearl black bluing. She said the pearl black bluing was 05T and deep burgundy metallic was 05N In any case, my painter matched the paint when i took the parts to him and he told me that was pearl black bluing.

So is it a black chrome ? a ceramic coat or just a simple baked and polished paint?? Or Bluing as in the same bluing you use on guns and some various machinery components?? You have me curious now..

Pearl Black Bluing is just the name of the color that Suzuki gave it back in 77. Anyways if you look at post #3 in this thread i had posted the PPG paint number there. I think its a great look myself. The bike had the original paint on it when i got it and my painter repainted it the same color. The guy is the painter for a company in Troy, MI called Classic And Exotic. All they do is frame of restores of classic cars and bikes. They have such rare cars there that they dont have a sign outside as to not attract attention to the building. The die company i worked for made custom dies for them for cars that they were working on. We took parts and made custom dies to cut out gaskets and other parts. That is how i got hooked up with them. The place is simply off the hook amazing. If anyone evry calls the ask for JOHN HARROW. He is a true artist at what he does. Reproduction Decals also carries the pinstripe kits for several of our old GSs .
