Spent the 49th renewal of my existence getting about 110 miles in on the GS550T and though the ride itself was void of any serious twisties, the destination was nice to see. I didn't have time to process the pictures when I got home this evening but I am glad I had the chance to ride out to the Charleston Falls Preserve in Vandalia today as they are closing it at midnight tonight indefinitely. After seeing the crowds on a Thursday afternoon about 4pm, I can see why their signs say it's because of overcrowding.

Clear, calm, day, temos in low 50s (degF).

Was thinking that a long ride would not be essential....
But do need at least a short ride, yah, that is essential, .... so I did.

And it happened again, as it has most every year,
Can see part of my front yard and driveway here, can see the sticks and the leaves and the pine cones that all need raking and such.
And I am taking off for a ride, and neighbors are out doing such work on their yards.
That has happened many times over the years, Only now it is happening on a early Friday afternoon, not on a Saturday.

Went out of town and back, 20 miles. Was good to get out.

Spent some time social distancing with rphilips. Followed him around middle TN for the better part of the day. He sure knows his way around here. He estimates we did 170 miles. I feel like I put in 300. Been a while since I've spent so long in the saddle.

Local scenery is amazing and there's no shortage of twisty roads nearby. Very little traffic too.

The only two pictures I took. Our meeting place this morning.

As far as I've been able to piece together from my fuzzy memories of following Ricky around, this was more-or-less our route.

No big deal. I've now done 74 of those trips. Start of my 75th one today.

                Happy birthday Scott.

Had a somewhat critical errand to run into town, so took a short ride.
Can be some nice roads intown, when those roads go around and/or into sanddune areas.

I've been really good about not leaving home (only left my house twice in 2.5 weeks...) but this afternoon I couldn't take another second of it and jumped on my VanVan for some two-wheeled therapy. I was super careful, almost paranoid, as the last place I want to end up right now is a hospital.

Of my four bikes, this is the only one I have plated and with many of the insurance places around here closed due to the virus, it might have to be that way for a bit. Unfortunately, this bike expires mid-May so I'm going to be facing scrounging up some plates and coverage sooner than later. Stupid COVID-19....

First ride of the year. Snow is finally gone and the rain held off. Just around the neighbourhood cuz it was getting late. I had to work on my work van all day, again.

Went to see the grandkids. No hugs, just talked from a reasonable distance. That's hard. Mooched a couple beers from my beemerpunk kid and then rode around the block.

Notice how my license plate is hanging half off in the second pic, then gone in the third....

well at least I know about where to look for it.
