I will never sell it now... that's deep... I am trying to change the speedometer on this bike... It went awry and I bought a "new" one... from a used one... I hope I can replace it...

Did that bike start life as an "L"? If so, did you replace the triple clamps when you changed the fork tubes?
Getting rid of the leading-axle forks without also changing the triples will slow down the steering, making it harder to handle.
