Don Vesco vs Bonneville - 1975

Yeah, I know it's not a Suzuki, but it's sooo cool

In 1975 the legendary Don Vesco became the first to break the 300 mph barrier on the Bonneville Salt Flats with his twin engine, TZ 750 cc Yamaha streamliner...

Todd, that was awesome! Thanks for posting.
Just yesterday I was picking up my exhaust from local shop and one of the Superrat guys was there picking up electrical parts for his vintage Maico.
They built a stock twin engine Ducati 999 unfaired, good for 194+mph.
Not sure if anyone's seen or heard of the movie "Out of Nothing", but it's worth a watch or clip.
      All local grass roots stuff.
Just watched "Dust to Glory" for the 6 time last night.

Not trying to Hijak, your vid got me thinking about locals who are into going there.
Here's another from "Sodium Distortion" who are associated with Superrat, all local Washington guys.
Apparently the salt is thin this year due to diking, and some political unrest might pose a problem for this years running.
DLM? is putting their foot down regarding the upcoming races, according to one of the local Bonneville guys.

I did see Out of Nothing and it was cool

There's a local guy building an Matchless to beat some 500 cc push rod class record

Alas, The BLM maybe killing Speed Week due to not enough salt. An era may be over

I like the part where Don crashes and he's all 'Tip me up". Totally unfazed by crashing at over 200 mph
