Is that what my white one looks to be? She was a rescue found in the North Valley here in town, covered in tics. We thought Jack Russell, Cairn terrier mix but really have no confirmation. At any case she's a great pup.

This a pic of Lucy from a few years ago. She's an English Coonhound. At 12 years, she is getting pretty grey, and slowing down a bit, but she is still healthy and active.

If I had to venture a guess, it would be Parson's Russel and cavalier. They look very much alike in conformation, hair type and color, but the Cavalier is a bit bigger than a Parson. I have a Cavalier also and he is about 25 lbs and twice the height of the parson at 14 lbs.

Caught a picture of Max in a splash of golden sunset light. By the time I had my phone, I lost the best of it though.

Thanks Ed. Hes getting to be somewhat of an old man these days. Gray around his snout, and if Im working in the garage with the door open, he will for the most part, just hang out and not try to sneak out....

First for me today, nail trim for the old Lab (Kaya). We always had the groomer or vet do this as I felt nervous doing myself like I'd hurt her. She weighs just over 60 pounds and was making a heck of a racket just walking through the house going scratchity click all the way down the hall. This morning I grabbed a handful of treats and some clippers and sat down in the back yard. She saw treats and happily joined me. I slipped on her collar, stood on the leash and just went for it. Gave a snack and while she chewed I clipped the first nail. Huh, no fuss. Clip, clip another treat, clip clip treat and so on. What was I afraid of, piece of cake.

Had to go through the worst day of dog ownership today. I am heartbroken, but eerily calm because I knew today was the day it needed to be done for her sake.

Sorry to hear that Bob. That's one of the hardest things to do in life. Having to put down a pet...

Aw man, sorry to hear it Bob. Just last week my son had to go help his grandma do the same thing with her German Shepard. Ugh, so sorry!

I stayed with her through the procedure. When her eyes went blank I had an incredible feeling of calm, I had done the right thing at the right time. She hadn't been doing well for months and I had been prolonging her pain.

Sorry to hear, man. No doubt, it is so hard to do but you made the right decision. I also stayed with our last dog through the procedure and felt the same way you did.

                                Again, I am very sorry.
