There hasn't been any music threads in a while so I figured I'd start one. I usually end my weekend by chillin to some tunes.

love some of the new to me music in this thread, and chillin to music on Youtube .. i can spend hours that way especially late at night when the world quiets down.
Some songs just hit you between the eyes.
This is one of them, Kris Jones singing Tennessee whiskey.

This led me to find Chris Stapleton

Funny how one leads to another. Never heard Chris Stapleton, nice!

      His sound took me here.

The pride in his daughter's eyes as her dad's incredible voice belts that song out is just gorgeous.

absolutely ! She is so happy to be with her dad, proud of him, enjoying the song ... i love all the different expressions on her face.
Interview on the Ellen show for some background :

And he did get something out of it, not only a performance on the Ellen show but a nice incentive to persue his musical dream, too. Again his very proud daughter warms my heart.

and a new single out since the beginning of this month "Big Black Truck" which i think is amazing.

nah, that does not escape me - i simply appreciate pure talent and a great performance.
Thanx to Etta James ? Noooooo .... thanks to his great voice, talent, and a doting daughter.
I don't hear any complaints about performers on The Voice using a good song to show their abilities.

Anyone can sing, not everyone has talent. This guy does, tons of it.

This simple karaoke song in a car was the stepping stone this guy needed and deserves,
and he now has his own song. Hopefully an album on the way, i wish him the best.

If anybody thinks that song was spontaneous, I have a bridge to sell you.

His daughter had to convince him to sing that song for her.
If anybody thinks they expected that amateuristic video to go viral with 35+ million views, an appearance on Ellen, 10K donation, etc - i'd say you would sell that bridge, too

Local NYC area band we saw regularly in the late 90s - 00s. Always a great show. Even when we saw them during a sleet storm with maybe 50 people in attendance.

These guys do a great live show, and this video reminds me of the days when videos were fun because they were interesting.

Anyone like 21 Pilots? Saw them on SNL last night. The only tolerable part of the show actually.

Not as interesting as Mastadon's video and far from the sound of Spread Eagle (who reminds me of an 80's garage band we knew)
