    Default Monoshock GS550ES

Howdy all, I am presently restoring my 1984 GS550ES. I have it torn down to the bare frame. Since I have the swing arm and Monoshock out along with everything suspension, I want to know if the shock can be re serviced? I know that it is charged with highly pressurized nitrogen (got from label on the shock) that could be good for a long time. I haven't ridden this bike for 6 years so what is the answer. I rarely fooled with the settings so no butt recall
    Hep me out!! Thanks

Not 100% sure, but I dont think its rebuildable.

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

    No rebuild Im sure.

There is a sap for a more modern shock that sacrifices some clearance hidden in the archives of this forum.

I dunno if its rebuildable, but around here there are some dirtbike shops that can refill the nitrogen (if it has some type of plug/valve) for a few bucks.

im going to guess its is rebuildable but i cant tell for sure because of the plastic shroud thats covering the shaft. ive never seen a shock with a remote reservoir that was not rebualdable. if you popped the spring off and the bottom of the main body looks like a removable cap then it comes apart there. the ones that are not will have that end cap welded on
