1982GS1100G or GS1100GL ?

    I bought a new 1983 850G, and I found it to be far less comfortable for touring than a 1981 850G I owned at the same time. I've also had a 1982 1100G, and the seat was better than the '83 850G (Remember that year per year, the 850G and the 1000G or 1100G were pretty much the same except for the 850 having a heavier and less powerful engine).

    I believe that starting in '82 the G and GL shared the same frame. In '83, the G had a seat that was not flat like the 1079-1981 seat, and way more "dished" than the 1982 seat. The seat was the the worst thing about my 1983 850G compared to my 1981 850G.

    There are so darned many GS850 survivors. It is a testament to just how strong and robust they are.
