Default 2017 PNW Rally...Whistler BC Edition...

    Ok guys, here we go....
Rob and I met for lunch today and we discussed the PNW Rally.
So here are the dates....June 07-11
The plan is to have everyone meet on Wed June 07 in Whistler where we will stay for the night. We can get pretty good deals that time of year in Whistler...and it's a beautiful place to see!
Then Thursday the 8th we head to the Sorrento BC Motorcycle Museum.
We will then head to Falkland BC to stay at Henry's house. Henry has offered us to stay at his place...lots of room...I think something like 100 acres...lol...he says people that want to tent can and he has a big double wide trailer that he used while he was building his house that sleeps lots!
We will have a big fire and roast weenies....there is a pub, restaurant and liquor store minutes from his place.
Then Friday the 9th we head out to perhaps Nakusp BC...
Details of the rest of the trip to come but I thought I better get something out here.....

I will post later tonight....cheers guys!!!

With all things going on this year I'll put myself on the hopefully/maybe list. I'd be coming the other direction so probably catch up with everyone at the museum and pass on the Whistler part. Doesn't make a lot of sense to drive 400km past the museum only to turn around and come back, other than getting to drive the Duffy Lake road which I've already done numerous times, even before they paved it.

Isn't there a strong possibility that it could be pretty cold that far North in early June? I'm not sure I'm brave enough for an early June ride to the North. I'd probably bring bad luck weather. Last year I had rain in Tombstone Arizona in May.

Hmmm. Sounds good! Some real good GS roads over there! At this point, count me in!

Wow. I actually have a plan that includes the rally. Just by coincidence we've got a reunion scheduled starting June 11th. to 15th. in Enderby. Original plans were to take the RV but that's now changed. We're just going to motel it and I'll catch up with the rally at the museum and on the 11th. when everybody heads out I'll just have motor over to Enderby. Works for me. Yay!!!

Yes, and no. The higher elevation passes will be chilly in the early morning and evenings, but there will be plenty of light such that 6am starts and 8pm stops shouldn't be the norm.

Last year I rode up to Dawson City, Yukon in mid June with no problems. That's a little further north than Whistler!
