Yea that would suck! I turned the engine over by hand when I'd put them back in and I didn't hear any knocking and it was fairly easy. So I'm assuming that I'm just one rivet out of place on the timing chain... hence the no compression

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the help! Managed to get her going and back up to London, I was a rivet out on the timing chain - show's how rushing this stuff is counterproductive!
Annoyingly am only getting 75 psi from each cylinder, it might be a valve issue but I'm thinking I will take it to someone to get some advice - if anyone know's any good people in London let me know!
Also just cleared up my mums shed where I've been working and found these...

Came out of the gasket set... does anyone know what they are and how important they are... 😬
Thanks again!
Fred

Did you use new rings on fresh honed cylinders ?. And with those seals missing I would expect oil leaks at the outer cylinder head studs. There is a seller on ebay selling rings for the 850 at a good price. There called cruzinimage and are in Japan, ive used there rings and there ok.

Did you lap the valves while the head was off and verify the valves and seats were in good shape? Did you adjust the valves?
I agree with the above comment about the location for those seals. I'm surprised the bike not puking out oil.
BTW, the EX -- line typically points a little up from the gasket surface. This is because with mileage the cam chain elongates a little. If the mark is pointing below the surface the timing is most likely off by one tooth.Last edited by Nessism; 07-29-2017, 10:09 AM.Ed
