Quite the project. "Learn by doing" and "learn by making mistakes" sums it up.

BTW, I gave the seller of the carbs a Neutral. Wrote: "Ad stated "Inspected to ensure quality" however non disclosed broken parts found."

For 50 bucks that's what I'd expect. I just sold a rack for $100 stating "Pulled from a parts bike. Need rebuild or use for parts." If the buyer who bought this rack and contacted me about it afterward about issues with the rack I would honestly say I just took the right off the bike and shipped them, clearly stated for parts or rebuild.

I never tore into them so I have no idea what to expect in there... If I went through them all I'd ask more. Racks are flying sub $100...

Sounds like your rack was worse then the ones I sold but for half the cost I'd expect half the quality.

    Sorry.

This is lazy selling. Stating the carbs "need rebuild" suggests they are rebuildable, just like the set I bought. If the buyer opens them up and finds carnage they may well be piZZed off like I was. You would be better off stating something to the effect of "These carbs are sold as part carbs. I've not opened them up so there may well be damage inside. Buy at your own risk."

Sounds like you made a pretty fair evaluation in your feedback to me. Obviously you weren't going to give him a positive one but didn't roast him either..........

I think there was a reason you didn't tell they were advertised as "for parts, not working" in the feedback? Doesn't seem quite right you left out the most important part of the description. Just my opinion.

You can't write a story book in the feedback. There is only 80 characters or something like that. Besides, there are almost ZERO carbs sold on ebay that are "working" out of the box. They pretty much all need to be cleaned and/or completely rebuilt.

Glad to see you overcame this Ed......I also agree with your choice of feedback - fair and to the point!
...besides, if old motorcycles didn't throw us "a little" work or drama our way, what fun would it be for us...nothing much then to conquer and little sense of accomplishment.
