    How much HP?

How much HP will I have with my 78 gs1000, bored to 1085 with the Yosh kit, 33 smoothbores, Yosh header, dyna ignition and Accel coils? Not sure about the cams but they have adjustable gears.

An approximate number, say 100-120 HP?

1983 Gs1100ESD, rebuild finished! Body paintwork happening winter 2017:D

I would rather trust my bike to a technician that reads the service manual than some backyardigan that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix things.

100 max would be my guess. Going to need head work and big cams to reach higher I think

my Gs1085 put out 90Bhp 68lbs of torque with stock 28mm carbs K&Ns ,at the time it had 3 or 4 tight valves which has been done and it has Gs1100g cams, which were just about new which were dialled in on slotted Ape slotted sprockets..... But now its done a few more miles, I will have it done again soon, but I think with yours may be around 100BHP with those smooth bores fitted......

28mm carbs? Stock for the US market was 26mm VM's on the early bikes, and 34mm CV's starting in 1980. Heard some 1000S's received 30mm VM's, but never heard about 28's?

Assume you meant 68 ft-lbs of torque. Nice number there.

UK spec 1000 S and EN models had the VM28SS as standard

Uk spec Gs1000s have 28mm carbs mine are nearly 29mm when you measure them with a vernier gauge, I think the En model has 28mm VM carbs as well. 68 foot pounds of torque" I did mean to say", the Guy who set it up for me has two Dynos one is in house which is where reading came from ,the other is on a lorry they transport around all over the country to race meetings and shows. He tells me that his mobil one,my Gs1085s would be around 100Hp.......

I forgot to add that it is also ported and polished.

That being said 100HP is going to be the most HP I have sat on with 2 wheels

                Thanks for the replies,

Oh, I am well aware of that drug

Have built cars with way moreHP than stock and said to myself " that is plenty". A year later and it was upped again, then again and again etc.

Once I get use to this HP the search will begin, I think you and Rapid Ray will be contacted
