More Chuck tanks

Chuck's been a great customer. Thought maybe I'd post some progress pics of his next Skunk, and the C model that took a hit in his garage "mishap".

Here's the maroon tank before starting on it. The ding is right above the stripe.

I always do the underside, too..



Primer by the weekend, block sand, primer again, block sand, then base coats. Both should look good as new in a couple of weeks.

I'm really hoping that one day, you can do my GS1100E bodywork.

Looks like a great start. It's cool to see the paint bubble up but I have never seen that macaroni! Clear coat is my guess...

I did that same strip, I put the bed liner coating on the bottom side of my tank.

That aircraft stripper is really caustic stuff, man. You have GOT to wear thick rubber gloves eye protection and even a respirator. It only took burning my fingertips almost completely off..one time.. to realize it many years ago.. Duh, Larry..that really hurts..

Larry...WTF man!!! You couldnt save those OEM stickers for me??? Man and i thought you were like Merlin the magician!!! LOL And as you all can see i wasnt "careful" about the tank liner acids getting on the skunk paint..I lined the tank and let it sit inn the Texas sun for a wekk to cure well before shipping them off.

Sorry about the delay on posting some more progress pics. Getting married, having a (very) short honeymoon, and going to a vintage bike gathering on Vashon Island this past weekend has put things behind a bit. Just primed and block sanded all the parts again yesterday (3rd round) and the parts all look great. Should have colors on before week's end. Thanks for the kind words.

No problem, Chuck..I laughed, too. Here's some progress pics. Kinda hard to tell in primer, but the parts turned out really nice. Very straight and ready for the final sanding before color coats.









guide coat to find any last little sand scratches. Should be able to get some color on this afternoon..oh boy!
