A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Motobatt

I recommend going to Impact Battery and buying it from them for the same price. I had some issues with a battery lately and their customer service was second to none especially knowing the MotoBatt I thought I bought from them was actually bought from someone else. They still issued me the warranty RMA and I'm more than happy with them.

EDITED: After I go back to read better, I see they are out of stock. I know they told me Motobatt recently had a factory fire (reason for my first call to them three weeks ago) and is still trying to rebuild the place so I'm sure they are still behind on orders. I still would recommend them though

I've been using Scorpion batteries for a few years. No problems so far.

Wow, you're up to the point of needing a battery already?

Need a battery to get the GPz running in the garage just to perform a compression check. That will tell me if the motor is sound or needs to be rebuilt . . . The GPz is far from bring street ready :-k

jumper cables and your car battery, leave the car off, should be able to start your bike and or crank it over to perform your compression test...

.

I recycled the dried out battery . . . so that is gone. Can you run a bike safely using jumper cables as described for five or ten minutes with no battery? :-k

I have already down the "thumb test" but I need to do the compression check when its Hot so I can compare those numbers to the cold value.

use the car battery as your battery, it's all 12 volts, the only down side is you might run down your car battery, so after a bit disconnect and run the car and charge it up...

.

Care to suggest any good deals on the MotoBatt Battery or other AGM's, I need a MB12U for a Kawi GPz550. Found this @ Amazon for $82 F/S

Edit: I have been checking around they seem to be back ordered & available March 3, 2014

TIA

You could run a bike ignition off a car battery for days even with no charging at all.

I have had luck with chrome battery...they have lasted for a long time and were a great price....
