Any interest in motor mounts to put GS 1000 engines in GS 750 frames???

This to put a chain drive 1000 engine in a '79 or earlier 750.

We are doing this today on a friend's 750, I had done another one on my own 750 recently. It was what Suzuki shoud have built. Much lighter, more quick and nimble than a GS 1000. Much more power than a GS 750. A really nice combination IMHO.
The 1000 engine is 15 pounds lighter than the 750, it is physically smaller in every dimension. The carburetors and the exhausts fit with only minor jetting changes.

While we are making up these various motor mounts and such, should I have it made into a CAD file so I can have a bunch of pretty ones made up, powdercoated, sell the whole set as an easy bolt on mod?

Don't think the set would cost too much, but I haven't ever done anything like that before.

Yeah. Those are for a later 750 and 1100 engine. Ours would be six steel mounts similar to those, a couple of which are bent, powder coated, no drilling or anything required.

I don't know how many people do this swap, maybe not very many?

There is a oil pan clearance issue with the 1100 in a 83 frame, as it is a 3rd gen motor and over all much narrower than the 2nd gen motors. I tried a few years ago and found out I would have to cut the frame and redesign the frame on the right side for clearance

I also have drawings for 1100e engine mounts, chain tensioners... oh some cool billet(I hate that word, over used) front break line guide mounts... some other nice GS custom parts.

I'm not sure of the 'stats' for this mod. I know the 1000 engine is lighter, where else are you saving weight? the frame? I'd be interested in a set for sure if you do them up, sounds like fun.

Posting just for informational purposes....these look a little different from what I got.

I know I'm missing some bolts...I may use the ones I took off my original exhaust pipes; if they fit.

I meant the 750 is lighter bike than the 1000, the 1000 engine is lighter than the 750 engine, so the lighter engine in the lighter frame is the way to go.
It was a really nice bike when I had it.
