Who are we?
We are the folks who keep The GSResources running.
Why? Because we are a dedicated group of Suzuki owners who
think that the GS is a heck of a special motorcycle. We
continue the tradition started by Mark Cooper many years ago (see
our history) - that is helping our fellow GS owners by running
this website.
Why is it that we still care about a 20+ year old bike?
Maybe it is because it was one of the first dependable rocket
bikes to come from Japan...
Maybe it was because it was one of the first affordable touring
bikes...
Or maybe it's just because we like them!!
In any case, we enjoy sharing information and giving our fellow
GS owners any help we can with their bikes. Whether it's to
share repair information or just "shoot the breeze", we
like to help any way we can.

I now live in Loganville, Georgia with my wife Joanne and dog Hogan.
We moved down here from New Hampshire after being laid off from my
computer programming job and not being able to find a job. The big
bonus of moving down here is the fact that for a New Englander who
doesn't mind Georgia's "cool" weather, that you can ride a
motorcycle down here year-round. And it is something I have
been doing.
I have always been a lover of speed in any capacity. Bikes,
cars, planes - it doesn't matter. That's why GS's have always
caught my eye. First the 750 when that first came out and then
the 1100. I am also an avid NASCAR fan. Go Mark Martin
and Tony Stewart!!!!
I am a Software Architect by trade and was a hardware
engineer for 10 years before that. All in all, I've been
around these computer things for almost 30 years. At this
point with the downturn of the computer industry, I am looking at
doing something completely different. So we'll see how that
goes. Over the years, I've
also worked on navigation/armament systems on Navy A-6's, worked
construction, lumberjacking, built race cars, ripped my motorcycles
to pieces, etc. etc. Even now I keep pretty busy.
Between my wife, dog, work, part time jobs, fishing and projects for
my family, I keep pretty busy. And yes, I still find time to
work on the GSResources. That could explain why I never
sleep. Just ask Dan... :-)

The family of GS owners have been good to me, and good enough to
let me be part of their lives. I know this is crazy, but all of the
GS owners I've encountered in person or on the web, or via mail or
telephone, all share that basic love of two wheels, of being out on
the open road enjoying the ride without limits. I know that my time
spent on a GS has enabled me to be a better biker, and hopefully, a
better person. That is why I've been involved with this web site
since the early days. It is truly a labour of love and one that pays
off in spades.
Unlike Frank, I don't have a passion for computers on the same
level, but I just do what I can to keep a few webs afloat. Maybe not
always cutting edge, but they do get the message across. When not
out on a motorcycle going back and forth to my real job, I'm out on
two wheels enjoying the splendors of the Shenandoah Valley, or
traveling the old roads along the Potomac. If I come across a great
ride, I try to share that with others, either by way of stories, or
via dragging along a few buddies to come along.
And yes, Frank has strange sleep habits -- it seems like he never
does! Maybe he has his PC automated so it just seems like he is
working away on the keyboard, but he is actually out on the GS.

I have lived in Wisconsin all my life. I married my wife
Kelly 19 years ago, and my daughter, Melissa,
is closing in on college. When I am not out motorcycling,
or doing the web thing at home, I buy and sell electricity for a
living. I have been riding GS series Suzuki motorcycles since
the late 70's.....I actually bought a new Wes Cooley replica GS
1000S in 1980, but unfortunately, I sold it a few years later.
I took a few years off from motorcycling during the child raising
years, but continued my AMA membership because I knew that someday I
would return to the sport. (this year I became a 25-year AMA
life member)
My current ride is a white & blue 1985 GS 700ES. I also
own a 1996 GSXR 1100W, and ride it when my back is up to the task.
My web site passion probably falls somewhere between Frank and
Dan. I am so fortunate that they have allowed me to
"ride-along" with them during my development years.....a
lot of questions, and a lot of errors. I enjoy being part of
this group because, like so many other GS riders, they share my
excitement for motorcycling. The GS Resources website is what
the internet was intended to be....an open exchange of information
between people in an understandable format.
