Mark -

Back in 1982, I traded my 750L in on a new GS1100GLZ. I owned the bike until the summer of 1987 when I sold it. Since then, I really missed that bike. You know, kept having those "bike dreams."

So, back in 2001 after getting the blessing from my better half, I started looking to see if I could find it again. I had the V.I.N. and contacted the original dealer and all the Suzuki shops in the area with the hopes that they had a record of it. With no luck, I started searching the internet and after several months, located my current bike in Virginia.

It was the same model and color, with only 8k miles on it. With the help of my best friend Gary, who was visiting family in the area, in June of 2001, he hauled the bike back up to New York for me.

With only the addition of a couple of missing stock pieces, the bike is back to 100 percent original with only the addition of the windscreen. With a little carb tweaking and sync, the bike runs like a champion.  I don't think I'll let this one get away from me this time!
