    Yet another carb question

Ok, cleaned the carbs (yes extra clean dipped, 24 hours), replaced o rings, bench synced.

Put them on brand new inlet rings that we nice and soft with new orings.

Bench synced and the screws are out to three turns.

Go to start and it makes a sound like it is sucking in air around the carbs.

    Any idea?

Check all the places where the engine pulls vacuum...

    - Nipple on carb #2 inlet where petcock vacuum line attaches (check hose too)

    - look to see all the inlet boots are actually attached correctly to the carbs - sometimes the rubber folds over on the bottom when you push the rack on.

    - Are the holes plugged where the sync adapters screw into the inlet boots for carb sync's ?

    - Spray some carb cleaner around the boots & carbs when it's running & try to isolate where it's sucking air.

    good luck...
