Biggest tire you can put on gs1150 rear wheel?

Hey I have just bought an 85 gs1150 and it needs tires. I want to put the biggest on the rear I can without bulging. Ive heard different things from people. Some say 150 some say you can get away with a 160 cause thats when you can get alot stickier better tire. What do you guys think. This thing is a tire burner now. Also I am looking for a good source for a 530 conversion kit, I want to get better low end gearing. Any suggestions?

Do you have the 3" or the 3.5" wheel? Stick with a 140 or 150 on the 3" and you can squeeze a 160 on the 3.5" wheel as long as you don't go to radials.
