    gs700 pilot screw settings

have a gs 700e cleaned out carbs completely, and rebuilt with all new o-rings, inlet seat screens. bike has a 4 into 1 exhaust, and k&n air filters. increased main jet to 130, increased pilot jet to 40. cant get idle setting properly. have pilot screws at 1 1/2 turns out. dynajet says to go to 3 turns out. factory manual says factory pre set take back to dealer. secondly should i lift the needle jet with 1 extra washer. thanks

no, you should buy a DynoJet kit, and not waste your time trying to jet it for pods and a pipe with the stock needles. It WILL NOT WORK. Period.

Sounds a little harsh, but "facts is facts".

You can get Mikuni jets that are very close to the jets that Dynojet supplies with their kits, but the difference that really makes it work is the different needles. You can shim your present needles all you want, but the taper remains the same. It's the difference in taper that really makes the difference.
