    Exhaust question?

Now that I have been riding around for a while I feel my bike is too quite, but i don't want to get an exhaust that will have me getting pulled over every two seconds either. I have been looking around for a nice exhaust system but not sure what to get? I really like the way the vance and hines megaphone looks but i have no clue as to how loud it is? Or what website to purchase it from. Any advise would be helpfull.

My advise...keep it stock. The carbs are jetted to run well and match the exhaust. Changing the intake or exhaust will require rejetting which adds to the mod cost. Also, aftermarket exhaust systems do remove weight from the bike but they also commonly reduce power in the low-midrange, and some even loose power on top too. I don't see the point.

I'm not worried about the mod cost and i know i have to rejet the carbs. I'm just looking for a quallity exhaust that will sound good but not wake everybody in the neighborhood up when i come home at night.

There you go Ed...trying to mentor another out of chopping up a nice quiet bike, keeping the tuning to a minimal so as IT IS EASY, don't cut the rear and make it a bobber, kind of talk.

        I completely agree!

KerKer makes a good pipe though the tone is more of a drone (in my head) and Vance & Hines builds a
GREAT pipe set up and sound good without being too loud. Would be my choice...

Can't go wrong with a Yosh pipe!!!

My bad. Loud exhausts are like crack to many cyclists so it’s meaningless to talk logic to an addict.

Regarding exhaust systems for the 3rd generation 750, I’m not aware of any currently in production here in the States other than maybe Mac. My understanding is that the engine exhaust port spacing is common with other GS models so I’m sure you can figure out something if you are willing to do some fabbing.
