    Seat question

Is there such a thing as an aftermarket (more comfortable) seat for an 82 GS1100? 125 mile ride and my tail is sore. I checked the Corbin website but the page just kept loading with no end. Thanks in advance. I appreciate all the help.

I'm chuckling to myself as I'm reading your post. Only because I have the same problem and was talking to another forum member here and he told me about Chef1366 having the same problem a few years ago. I did a search and found this post.

That should help you I think. I don't know about the product but I do know several people have posted very good comments about the brand/product.

I don't know if you have spent anytime over at adv forum but they swear to these sheapskin but pads.

I just checked that link and there isn't one for our bikes. It also says to measure our seats and then pick one from their list thats closest to size because they do have some adjustment. For me, I'd rather have mine redone. But thanks for the info.

I've tried seat beads, sheepskin pad and an airhawk seat cushion. The airhawk is by far the most comfortable. You can adjust it and it can be transferred from bike to bike. Three hundred or four hundred mile days are not a problem.

Another option if your cover is in decent shape is to buy some of the Sargent Super Cell foam, cut it in and re-use your OEM cover. The foam is around 25-30 per piece as I recall. I re-did one of my seats last year and have been happy with it.

One word of caution the new material is a LOT firmer than the old saggy OEM foam so it did take about 1500 miles to get used to it. I took it on a 450 mile day right after installing it and it was not very pleasant but after a while you do get used to it and will like it.

Post # 9 shows how it looks before putting the cover back on.
