    Replacing pinion release shaft seal

I want to replace a leaking seal where the clutch shaft goes thru the right side clutch cover.

Can this be done without removing the side cover? Do you merely disconnect the linkage from the clutch cable and dig the leaking seal out with a knife and then gently tap the new seal in with a socket or something like that?

I find working on my motorcycle mildly therapeutic when I'm not cursing.

Should work. Give it a try but you may want to order two seals just in case...

Order the seal and gasket. then remove the cover, replace the seal, gasket and get rid of the red sealant around the fasteners.

Thanks, I have one seal. Guess I need a gasket. I guess the red stuff is the handy work of the PO.
