    GS1150 motor in a 750?

I have searched the topic and came up with nothing, this is more of just curiosity killed teh cat kinda thing but. Has anyone ever put the 120hp GS1150 motor into an older GS750 frame, say a 79? or any year for that matter.

Prolly not gonna happen in a 79 750 without A LOT of motor mount work. Completely different motor design (obviously, but the blocks arent even SIMILAR whereas an 80-82 750, its probably near bolt in...)

Yea there is a motor kit for putting an 1100 into a 750, so the 1150 would also slip in.

I think some just remove one of the mounting bolts

Jim, the 79 mounts are different. You posted about installing in a 16 valve chassis. Ray.

Still pretty good....stock '82/'83 1100E makes 91 to 94 at the wheel. No idea what his 750 puts out.

my point is that crankshaft HP ratings are very misleading.
more of a selling point by the manufacturer when the bikes was new.
1150 engines can make 130 HP at the rear wheel with out removing the head if you know what parts to use and have the knowledge to install and optimize these parts 100%.
                  1150 engines are my choice............

Yea Ray, I was echoing what Josh said about the later models; I dont know much about 8V except there are only 1/2 as ,any valves as my 16V
