    Just about finished...

I've had this bike for the better part of a year and it is finally on the road! It is a 1983 GS1100GK that I removed the front fairing (it was junk) and put on a GS1000S fairing instead. Naturally, nothing fit on the larger GK forks so I had to throw together my own headlight mounts and all that. I even have driving lights so I can pretend i'm a Harley tourer.
I did the base/clear paint and striping myself (first time!).
Black seat cover is on order!

I set up this bike just to take my wife out on extended (a few hours?) trips - now if we can just find the time...
          Thanks for the compliments!

The album pics are bikes I have restored, owned or just had 'pass through my hands' on their journey to full restorations. I just can't help myself - if I see an old Suzuki (usually going for a song - or less) I have to have it.

Its amazing the look of a GK without the stock fairing.
You can go wrong when you remove it.

Removing that fairing has tranformed the character, sorta like a BMW R100S
