    full floating suspension

    hey I have the full floating suspension on my '86 gs550es. I cant seem to find in the manual what the adjustment means. Is 1 firmer or 5. I can't really tell a difference, so maybe it is shot? Any help on sorting this out would be much appreciated!

    5 is firmer. 4 is more rebound damping on the other dial.

    The hydraulic preload adjuster only moves about 1/2" - 3/4" max so you won't feel a huge difference because there is not!

    The other thing that can happen is that the collar that moves gets rusty & "welds" itself to the shock body so it no longer moves (the hydraulic pressure is not enough to shift it).

    The 3rd thing that can happen is that it's sprung a leak & there is no fluid in there...
