Found this gasket under the igniton cover on my wife's 86 GS400.
Don't recall ever seeing one before.Put it back or leave it out?

May be a faulty memory or something.Don't remember one on any other engine.The 750's do not for sure.I'll put it back next time I'm in there.

I think they all have gaskets.
Nothing to seal in but plenty to seal out, if you ride in the rain that is.sigpic

Hi SV, leave it in, both of the GS550's I've had,the GS1000 engine and the GSX1100(GS1100E to you guys) I replaced it with all had those gaskets,on the 1000 I just used to make new ones out of cereal packet with grease rubbed into the unprinted side. You really don't want a dead engine that locks up the back wheel when you go through water leaned over-guess how I know that!. Hope this helps, JohnnyComment
