Ok, I looked at your profile, and you have an '82 450L. Put that in your sig line, and maybe the questions you have will be easier to address.
First off, these bikes don't have magnetos. Those are a thing of the distant past, beyond the time of the GSes. What you want to pull is the pemanent magnet hub that fits inside the stator, on the end of the crankshaft, I'm think. If you go to Z-1 Enterprises, there is a tool listed there for the job with a note to call them with the year and model of your bike to obtain the correct tool. It runs about $50.00, so be prepared, it ain't cheap.
Some Suzuki dealers know how to look up the needed tools in theit microfiche files as well, and a few will even order them for you.

      sorry new to this
i bought one puller allready for 70.00 wrong sizes
it listed my bike year size and model 1982 gs450l.
i went to the yamaha shop today
(the suzuki shop would not help me because it was older
      than a 1995)
the suzuki shop man told they would not look at it
the man at the yamaha shop tried every puller he had
then he looked at all the tool books he had and only
found one listing for a gs450l
and it was the wroung size
i can not find a puller anywhere

I guess the first question is did pulling it do the damage or are you pulling it because of the damage?

If you're pulling it because of that damage, I'm guessing it was caused by spinning on the crankshaft.

I guess it somewhat depends on how much useable surface is left.

I would think if you could smooth it off without decreasing the actual tapered outside diameter, reassemble with loctite, and ensure the correct bolt is used torqued to the correct value, it should be doable if not ideal...

I'd wait for more input before doing it though...

i thought the starter clutch went out because it would turn and the flywhele
would not .ive had hell getting it off couldent find a puller(made one work)
when i got it off today this is what i found inside
i hope the motor is still ok
found metal shaving in the mag\flywhell now i know where they are from

                Hi,

If you're trying to post pictures to the forum, read this:

You can "attach" one small picture file from your computer to your forum post. But to embed up to 10 larger pictures per post, you'll need to upload your picture files to an online picture sharing site, like Photobucket, and use the <img> code or paste the URL using the icon.

Going by Ed's post in the other thread, it doesn't look promising.

Did the rotor seize or get jammed on something maybe? If so, that would explain the damage.

                    update flywheel

i think it was there when i bought the bike
when i got it running i rode it once
i parked it because one cyclinder quit running
the nexttime i road it quit me and i had to push it home 1/2 mile up hill but
on the down side i costed the outher half
all told i road it 2.5 miles
the mag is shot i broke the magnets when i pulled it off
i am going to get a used engin and take this apart
i am afrade of this one.lots of shinny stuff in the oil(metal shavings)
all the way to the oil fillter
i got took when i bought it
it had more problems than i was told

Bugger! I think your used engine idea is probably the safest bet.

At least you'll have lots of spares

Sorry to hear you got taken though, that's never a pleasant situation, but here's hoping you can make it good and have a great bike out of it
