    New acquisition: 83 gs400l.

So I pulled the trigger. 875 dollars for a 81 gs400l with only 16k. The only issues are a little rust. My question for you guys is what parts should I keep from my burnt out 84 400? The Only thing I want to immediately do is replace the bars, not a fan of this style.

I have some plans for the bike can your guys recommend anything?

    1. Tank and bar swap with my old 1984 Gs400EE.
    2. Paint the chrome exhaust...it looks tacky as all hell
    3. Take off the luggage rack.
    4. Paint the fenders, side covers black.
    5. Find some way to replace that seat.

Hmmm generally I'd have to agree, definitely more of an E guy than an L guy...

I'd like a rack on mine actually but that one you have there is huuuuuge...

Can't remember what the E seat and tail is like, but maybe they'll swap?

The other option of course is just to do an engine swap....

The only problem with an engine swap is the headlight bracket on the 84 is cracked and the speedo and tach are broken and the brake lever is also wrecked.
