    Shifter Shaft Seal

    sorry if im not calling it by the correct name but i have oil leaking for my shifter. i purchased the seal was just wondering how you go about changing it.

    Do a search on here and you'll find everything you need to know. There are several ways to do it. When I change mine, I'm going to pull the old seal using a a couple of sheet metal screws or a thin bladed screwdriver to pop it out. Lube the shaft and press the new one in.

      I too had trouble putting screws into the seal past that metal band but I finally dug them out. Broke a steak knife and two picks in the process but did it. Definitely lube it before putting it back in though.

        once you pull that cover off do you have to mess with the clutch or is there anything to be careful off?
