    GR650 Bobber won't start

I've been workin' on this bobber for a while now. Got it nearly finished. I'm running pods and have installed a jet kit that is supposed to work with the pods. Prior to installing the kit, I was getting some back firing etc.,. but it was not firing up. I'm getting spark, and the compression is good. Carbs are in good shape, and I am running shorty mufflers.

So...I'm thinking the timing could be off, and I should check the valve clearances. Is that a reasonable direction to go? I've been through this on a gs750 and gs850, but never a gr650.

By the way... the bike ran before I took the engine out to modify the frame.

    Thanks,
    Scudder

What did you change last? Suspect that.

How long has it been since the bike ran?

How long has it been since the carbs were cleaned and re-o-ringed?

How were the carbs treated before storage for the frame-ectomy?

I was thinking about all those questions last night. I believe a complete carb cleaning is in order.

      Thanks
