Any possibility of contact with the owner directly..in person or other means.I assume you do want ownership of this GS

Ant...funny you should post that. I was just up to Killeen Power Sports to talk to my buddy Paul and we shot the chit for a while at his work bench.

This years project bike they are doing for The Harvest Classic is a 76 RE5. Paul set up the Motion Pro gravity bottle and fired her up for me. First time i ever heard one run..sounds like a 4 stroke at idle but kinda like a 4 stroke / 2 stroke high bred at higher RPMs. Really a unique sound for sure.

Walk in with a wad of cash and ask to speak with the owner.

They aren't worth much in that condition, by the time you restored it you would be way upside down on it!!!!

I would say that FAIR is a reasonable condition assessment. Mind you that the carb has something like 15 jets and diaphrams..so thats gonna be a BIITCH to get it right. Also the OEM plugs are NLA. A place called ROTARY RECYCLE is a guy that has hundreds of them and he may well be able to get SOME parts and provide lots of technical support.

There are adapters put there that allow you to use a standard B8ES plug in them.
