    Yammie ignition interrupts.

Can anyone tell me how they are strung together, if they are, and how the ignition sequence works once you turn the key and stab the button.
Its not laid out very clearly in the manual.

Along with transmission issues, my FZ "project" (for that's what its become) now has developed an electrical problem that I suspect is interrupt related. turn the key and press the button and there is absolutely nothing, even the headlight won't come on. Battery is good as are all fuses.

I know there is a clutch interupt switch and a side stand switch and sidestand relay, there is also mention of an ignition safety switch and of course the run/kill switch and a diode block as well (which I have no idea of what it does). I'd just like to get a sense of how they are designed to work.

the manual does refer to a series of resistance tests for each component but other than that there is not much in the way of trouble shooting.

As always, any assistance would be greatlfully accepted.

    Cheers,

I came across this info on ninja forum years ago- good explanation of the safety interlock switches. Some of it might apply to your yamaha and might get you thinking.
Thank goodness that my bike has none of this false sense of safety stuff.
