For sure, this owner is swinging for the fences. I agree that he certainly won't get his asking price for it as well. But I am familiar with this bike and it is a standout in the world of ELR's. Just a beautiful motorcycle!

Isn't there an S version worth much more than the standard one? Maybe this is one of those, looks to have the upgrades.

Geez, $30 grand? For that much money, you could get a nice used Z-Rex and trick it the out to the gills, and then get another one and trick it out to match as a backup...

No it's not an S1. Most of them are in Japan now. 30K would be a steal if it was.

Maybe he saw the one that went for $22,169.69 just a week or so ago and thought his was better..thus the additional 8G asking price...

Why not just buy a used Corvette instead? Or how about a down payment on a vacation home?

Well Well...seems we need to buy as many GSs as possible and store them in climate controlled garages. Soon we can be getting 5 or 6G for a standard 750!!!

Cooleys will be better than your 401k!!!!

Would have been interesting if Suzuki would have offered the S models —and even the later S model Katanas— comparable factory performance upgrades as the ELR. Might have seen higher valuations today... but there's no keeping up with the Kaws.

The KZ1000R (ELR) was a unique bike, many different parts over the stock KZ1000's including a frame with different steering geometry over all the other KZ's.. They were a true performance bike. I would love to have one, but $30k is a touch too rich for me...

The KZ1000-S1 was a race bike. It was developed for a racing series that never happened. 30 or so where built - many of them ended up in South Africa as they had a racing series that the bike could run in. They can command serious money - I saw one not set for $30,000...

Here in GS land we get thread after thread lambasting bikes like pristine GS1100's selling for $4000. Too much money they say. You could get a modern bike for less others say. Ect, etc. It's no wonder GS's ain't worth crap. We are a bunch of bottom feeders here. Kawasaki KZ's on the other hand are pulling down good money. Makes performing restorations worth the effort and cash. I love these old GS's, but they truly are on the bottom of the motorcycle food chain. Strange that, considering they are technically speaking, some of the best bikes of the era. Oh well.
