    triumph trident help needed

got a 74 trident t150 has been fitted with a Micro mkii ignition system (with bike when got it) and I can't get it to fire.

Micro system needs Lucas 17M6 6 volt coils (bike is 12 volt) bike has Lucas 17M4 (volt unknown) it also has NGK TBO5EM plug leads and new Champion N3C plugs. (Bike is positive earth)

I know I have power to the micro black box and it is wired as stated in the instructions

Is there a way to test Box and Pickups etc????????????????

That is a Boyer system. I have on one of my Commandos, and I don'r like it.

The advance curve never advances quickly enough, but then never stops advancing. At least thatis how mine is in the Commando.

You may have the newer version

Here is information on determining which one you have.

A '74 Trident is the best of the breed. 5 speed and disc brake, and not a peg dragging low rider like the T-160 It looks like the 6 volt coils may be correct. Commandos always used them, with a ballast resistor to drop the voltage after it warms up.

Pazon are either in Napier or Gisborne AFAIK - they're supposed to be among the world's best at electronic ignitions.
