It is probably keeping the fairing in place, or the bike perched on the desk. One of the two.

          What motor is that?
1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

Looks like a 1000cc left in the dryer too long.

                It's a 4 cylinder - probably a 550?
                Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha )

                Past:
                VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas....

Only thing that I can say for sure, is that it is NOT a 450, 650 or 850.

450 and 650 have different cam end caps, 850 has a shaft drive.

Where did you get that tank? I've been trying to find one under $1000.00.
                      80 gs1100 16-v ported & polished, 1 mm oversize intake valves, 1150 carbs w/Dynojet stage 3, plus Bandit/gsxr upgrades

look like a 750 frame, the front downtube crossmember is around the tubes unlike a 1000 frame.

Let me just tell you that you need to rebuild the shocks. Those things will not be completely full of oil, and they won't have much, if any N2 in the bladders. Once rebuilt, though, they work fairly OK.
