New member here, looking at threads and sometimes i can see pictures, other times its a little tiny icon of a piece of paper....any ideas folks?

Click on Settings, then go to General settings, and check that you did not turn off the feature to view images

You have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts.
or are you getting something like this and if so, then the original poster has moved or deleted their picture
