The first repaint I did this scheme I called Old Yeller.Well I messed that up by not reading the instructions, put nowhere near enough hardener in the clear:surprise:

And on went the red/black scheme. If you look in my sig link thread to post 214 you can see why I need to redo:(

That I have no real clue how to do.I was thinking of sticking with the black and red separations as they seem better suited to the bodywork than what the factory did.

Greg just do it in stock colours and be done with it!

I'd either back to the yellow, but ad some red pearl in the clear or black cherry and black.

Trevor the red and black are stock colours for an 85 750EF,IMHO Suzuki did a horrible with them though. All the division lines where straight and nothing went with the curves in the bodywork.Think I did a much better job that way,to bad my novice painting skills let it down:neglected:

And this isn't anything I'd do either, the red and black have the same division lines:hopelessness:

Nice candy job on that truck!Candy is not something I'd feel confident doing with my limited skills.Yes I should have said if I went back to yellow it wouldn't be that plain yellow but a metallic yellow.Seen it on a Miata IIRC.Hmmmmm......red with a really dark(almost black)red, that could be

No votes for yellow?I kinda miss using the Old Yeller nickname:crushed:My wife and I liked the visibility it has to.I get it isn't really a period colour.

I have voted for yellow for my husband's Bike. How ever I still and will always believe purple would be better. But its not my bike and i will support what ever color he decides to paint it.

The yellow looks great! Do go back to it! The other scheme was too dark for such a fun bike!

Yes that ! Remember the Joe Nardy 1100ED in blue and silver ?

But to confuse the issue further I would like to see the blue and silver switched around.......

What paint did you choose for your 85 750 EF?

Honestly I haven't.I should be stripping it down to sand all the paint off but the tins are still sitting on the bike:(To much stuff I NEED to get done with about 0 energy:disillusionment:
Edit:Interesting that silver and dark blue is in the lead with back to yellow second:-kYeah Joe Nardy's 1100 is at least part of the silver/blue thing but I had done my pre GSR GS650E in those colours to.Do I wish I had pics:black_eyed:

Guess I never said one of the reasons the silver/dark blue is one of my picks is that I want left over paint to do the stripes on my 82 GPz;)Waste not.........

Well, too late to vote, but I think half the effect will be the graphic layout.
I look at the fairing creases for line ideas, and a wide look at all the historic photos of bikes from the period, mostly the race bikes.
What I dislike most about Suzuki colors is the Virgin Mary blue with white, :p really wimpy.
The Yoshimura colors are great, and so are some other race team colors.
I've found that the fairing creases I dislike can be hidden by the graphic layout of the paint.
Mono color is boring, and sometimes hideous.
Bad graphics can make a bike look clownish.
Medium Blue is a popular color for circus clowns, so watch out with that.
PS: I have 4 graphic designer books of and about color combinations.
