    oil filter changes

    Hi all,
Everybody here who has dropped the last washer that holds their oil filter into a catchpan please raise there hand  I've found out that this can be prevented by the use of a coffee can and a bit of coarse wire screen for catching your oil/parts. Now when you drop that sucker you won't have to fish it out.

This works for my 400 with a little bit smaller oil capacity than an 1100 but I think it can hold all of the oil and it fits under the bike with room to spare. Let me know if it doesn't hold all the oil in an 1100.

    Cheers, Steve

It's always good to have a spare oil filter cover o-ring. Those rubber things cost under $3.00 Canadian, and that's a deal.

I use Fram,$5 US, and it comes with the O ring.
As far as the washers goes, I use a magnet to fish it out.
And to see if anything is in the oil that shouldn't be in there
