    Sprocket question?

Just so I don't have to figure it out Does anyone know off hand what happens if I put a rear sprocket with 49 teeth on instead of 47?
    How about engine end?

more teeth on the rear sprocket will give you a lower gearing. The engine will rev more than it did as the same speed before you changed the gear. I CALL THAT A LOWER GEAR RATIO(IT IS ACTUALLY THE INCORRECT TERM) --any way the effect is the oposite if you change the number of teeth on the engine sprocket.

      sprockets/ratios

I found a handy sprocket combination ratio chart on the internet some time ago; just tried it and it still works:

I've set this up as a hot link, but when I tried it, it got shifted to a page that was blank except for a tripod.com header/logo. :? But copy and paste it or just type the above into your browser address block; it still works when I do it that way

I printed a copy and keep it with my other cycle maintenance manuals, etc. Hope it helps!
