    How Suzuki part numbers work

Here's what I was able to figure out today

If a standard bolt is being specified the dimensions are in the part number.
If a standard bearing is being specified the standard number is in the part number.
There isn't two part numbers for the same part. If Suzuki is still using a part after first putting it on a bike 20 years ago it'll have the same part number. If they designed a new part that could replace the old part the number will have been supersceeded.

    Examples
    Rear wheel bearing: 08143-63037
This is a 6303 Bearing, very common

    Bolts:
    01517-06308
    This is a 06 mm x 30 mm bolt

In both cases use your own judgement, it doesn't appear to me that screws use this format. If the size is appears to be way off then it probably is.

    Cheers, Steve
