    Frontier Leather Chaps

I just bought a new set of Chaps last weekend at a bike show and swap meet in Albuquerque. I had an old pair that I was having to repair at least annually as they were to tight in the thighs and the stitching kept coming out on the zippers.

When I got the new ones I told they to just get rid of the old ones for me as they had been repaired so many times that they wouldn't hold a seam. I handed him the chaps and he noticed that they were Frontier Leather Chaps as well but the style was definitely older. I got to thinking about when I got them and I remember getting them at the Golden aspen Rally in Ruidoso and that they had out lasted a number of jackets.

I am pretty sure it was either in 1991 or 1990 but it could have been as far back as 1988 as I remembered riding the Virago when I got them. They had been down at least twice and didn't look that bad for the experience. They were a little age hardened and basically just worn out.

Until then I hadn't realized how long I'd been wearing them or how well they had lasted.

I think that if you want to check them out you rally need to try them on first so a rally would be the best place to find them, but they are on line.
