    Model information

Hi all, new on here, Great resource. I have a 1981 GS650G which I would like to take off the road to clean and tidy up and to do that I'm looking at a GS650 Katana from 1983, my question is, this Kat has an oil cooler mounted at the top of the frame, I have seen Katana images with and without this oil cooler. My question, is the oil cooler OEM on a 650 Katana? and when did it become standard fitment?
    Thank you in advance.
I think I have found the answer in the parts schematics, pays to look I suppose.

Hi There, oil coolers were fitted OEM on later models and in some markets on GS650G Katanas. Those fitted with the cooler also had a different sump-plate which had the in/out for the oil cooler and the oil pressure relief (part of the plate) was also a different configuration. Bolt pattern was the same.
