Toyota targets more hydrogen vehicles than solid-state EVs by 2030
There are two hydrogen refueling stations inside 4 miles of my home. And I live in So. Calif, where population density is high.

I'm a big supporter, but it would majorly suck to have to deal with driving so far just to fill up. Unfortunately, it's the chicken vs. egg situation; hydrogen filling stations won't be built until there are more users, and since there are few stations, people don't want to buy the cars.

One auto analyst described Nissan as " a third tier finance company that also sells cars. If your credit was so bad that every other dealer turned you down, you can still buy a Nissan"

I remember Nissan for great cars and trucks in the 80s and 90s, especially their race cars.

I expect the Japanese government is involved with financial help

    What went wrong at Nissan?

Toyota has been hesitant on the full EV front. And I don't blame them. Internal combustion engines are their history, so trashing that must be very difficult for them. And Honda, maybe even more so. They make some of the best lawn equipment, generators, boat engines, and of course, motorcycles.

I remember the ferocious rate at which they rusted away. Hardly surprising, the earlier shipments were carried as exposed cargo and badly waterproofed. That, combined with the thinner steel than all the Euro manufacurers used, meant that wings and tailgates were literally falling off in three years.

I had a Maxima with a badge on the back that said "Datsun by Nissan" on it. Must have been 1982 or 1983 model. Rear wheel drive with the inline 6 cylinder.

Datsun, Probably few here remember them. I bought a new "Nissan" 720 pick-up 40 yrs. ago back in 1984, less power than anything I ever drove, later heard they changed to fuel inj. in 1985 and that helped the power a lot. No clue how much earlier they changed from Datsun but I do remember them. Very strange this comes up now. As, I don't remember how but this came up this morning down at the store. We were talking about a neighbor that we all remember bought either the last yr. of the Datsun or the first yr. of the Nissan truck. No clue which he had nor what yr. it was. We never figured it out. What's the odds this odd ball subject came up twice in the same day
