I just watched the national news and it looks like the biggest threat is the ice, which will sweep from T X across the south, skipping FL.

The news showed an incredible shot in MI, likely the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, horizontal blowing winds. How's our members there holding up?

    -51 in Duluth, MN

a shot outside a grocery store somewhere in the East, with a line of people standing in the snow, that stretched around the block.

Interestingly, this storm lacks a name. What happened to naming every major rain?

Edit: 46 F here with clear skies

Snow in the South is like being out on the road for amateur night (New Year's Eve) but once you're down in these parts where on normal days the line in the middle of the road is just kind of a suggestion and those pretty blinking lights on the back of the car are only used at Christmas to make things purtier things tend to become more tense.

Posted by a Sherriff's office in Georgia:

"There could possibly, maybe, barely be less than an inch of snow Saturday in the OC.
You know the drill. We have rehearsals for this every year. You are ready for the big event.
Tomorrow, buy out the grocery stores. Buy things you don’t need or even want. Loot the bread, milk and eggs first. When everything but sardines in mustard sauce is gone, then you know you are done.
Get out your 4 wheel drive trucks, jeeps and SUVs and put them in 4wd immediately. You don’t want to be the only guy with a jeep who isn’t in a ditch by 9 am.
Check on momma and them. That goes without saying.
If there isn’t enough snow at your house to make a snowball, steal your neighbors' snow.
The panic of 20(26) begins at noon tomorrow."

Due to the extreme cold weather forecasted for the next few days, Wal-Mart is requesting that customers wear 2 pairs of pajama pants when shopping at their stores!

Having lived the majority of my adult life in the snow belt of Northwest Lower Michigan I kinda grin at the idea of a few inches of snow closing down entire sections of the country. Then again, considering the driving habits common to areas south of the mason-dixon line I can easily see how this could be a major catastrophe! I'm just glad to leave wheat and dairy out of my diet, paper towel works in a pinch.

I say let it snow! It's been a few years since we got a big snow fall.

Winter is for working on your motorcycle, getting it ready for spring time.
I'm going to remove the body work and fuel tank to get to the ECU. Having it flashed will pick up 15-20 hp.

For sure. Winter in Ne. can last into early May. I've lived there and can attest to the fact that April is not usually good for motorcycling.

Bet you will be riding in a week or two, unlike Nebraska.
