    Help with paint color

    Hello there.
Im trying to find either a paint name /code and source for a can of spray paint for my bikini fairing. Color Rite and most companies don't go
    back far enough.

    1983 GS750E. US model
    Dark Maroon red

Right now the fairing is purple. Gotta change that.

You might remove one of the side covers, clean it up with some rubbing compound, polish it as well as you can and take it to an automotive paint store and they can match it with their spectrum gun and probably put it in a spray can for you.

Being an extremely, um, frugal guy, I've gone to large parking lots and looked for color matching my needs on a car. Then off to rattle can aisle and search for year/model. Did OK! Problem now is finding a car that isn't white, gray or black.

My problem is the owners of cars in lot get all huffy when I test spray a tiny area on their fenders.

Duhhh, You're spraying the wrong fender!!! Spray it on the other fender then they'll never see it.
