I'm thinking the "82" had the "S" just above the tail light, below the lock. My "83" has SUZUKI right above the tail light and below the lock...

I am finally getting around to painting the side covers and rear cowl on my '82 GS1100E and have a question as to the decals on the rear cowl.

The parts fiche shows 2 decals, a "Suzuki" and a "S" decal for the rear cowl. My tired old memory cannot remember seeing both of these decals on the rear cowl. If I remember correctly, the "S" decal goes under the seat lock, towards the rear of the bike??? I can faintly see where this was originally placed. Is this correct?

Does the "Suzuki" decal go above the seat lock? I cannot see where this bike ever had that decal on it. Is this bike supposed to have both decals or only one?

Anyone have a picture of an original rear cowl to share?

Guess that's what I get for waiting 2 years to finish a paint job!
