Nice bike! Did you used to have a GS with custom body work?

Okay, I think I got it!
The front calipers in this pic are held on with zip ties, I needed spacers and ended up swapping them out for R1 calipers a day later.

Charlie G, yes, I have my ‘82, which I have been poking at since ‘09. I actually jumped on the ‘83 off Craigslist with the intent to rob it of it’s engine and such. I realized as soon as I saw it, it was too nice to break. Hence, the “Parts Bike” moniker, as it’s ludicrous to think of it as one.
The ‘82 is a GS in spirt only, anymore, as I am swapping in a GSX1100F engine. All that remains is the tank, about half of the frame, the iconic train headlight, kickstand and little else.

It took me a bit to remember you and your project. Really admired your workmanship on that til section. You need to finish it some day! Glad you picked up the 1100 as it's a keeper. Cheers!sigpic

Ah, the ol' zip-tie mounting method.
Probably floating rotors why not floating calipers.
I am starting to come around on the black headlight ring look.2@ \'78 GS1000Comment

Many years ago I hit a deer with the 1100e I had at the time. After I replaced the glass, I was left with a scuffed up headlight ring which I dolled up the best I could, then painted it black. I preferred that look from that moment on.sigpic
