    Magnum Steel

Stripping a spare tank. There are a couple heavy rust spots that may not survive. A dude recommended this Magnum Steel epoxy to patch. Anyone try this stuff before?

I'm not sure about that apoxy but I have used the Caswell internal tank coating on a couple of old British tanks that were leaking from pinhole rust and it sealed them. I rode those bikes for several years after with no problems.

Haven't used that particular brand but cheap old plumbers epoxy works fine so I'll bet it works fine too. I've used it several times to fix pin holes. While it is gas proof ( I did my own test, made an epoxy "pebble" and immersed it in gas for several months.....no deterioration) The Caswell seal is great as well as it is also an epoxy and hardens to a solid shell.

I fixed the pinholes in my gastank with this method and it fine getting on 4 years later.

      I'd give it a shot.

      cheers,
