I bought my old kat back off a dude I built it for a couple years ago. Has been sitting some time and when I took it out for a pound it was running ok but jetting was off a bit. The bike had been dyno'd last summer and tuned by the dyno guy.
When I popped the tops of the carbies and pulled the needles I found that the small white plastic washer/spacers were all missing.
I am no carb expert but I haven't heard of anyone leaving them out on purpose. without them the needle jets have a whole clip setting of play(2mm)
I have ordered a new set. One distributor up here in Canada only had three of them. So, back to the good 'ol USA for the parts I need.
Runns remarkably well, I would have thought that oversite would have had more of an impact on the performance.
